This was a shot taken for the Edinburgh club night "play date". It worked out quite well but if I'd had more time and a larger budget I think i could have really gone to town with it. As time and money were against me there was a lot of fudging to ensure that the desired effect was achieved. I'd like to have pulled the camera out a bit further to show more of the model club I'd made for the robots. It would also have been nice to have had lots of robots - I only had 4 and as a result needed to clone a lot in and change the saturation of some to make them look different. Perhaps next time...
Total time for the whole shot was around 4 hours - that included about an hour to build the set, an hour shooting with different light sources and a couple of hours in post to merge all the shots together.
I was supposed to be shooting a festival this weekend for Virtual Festivals.com but unfortunately I was unable to make it due to personal circumstances. Which was a shame considering I really enjoyed shooting Rock Ness last month.
