After a very traditional job on Friday with the graduation, yesterday saw a return to more eccentric pastures with a shoot for up and coming Scottish outfit "Futuristic Retro Champions".
This shoot was taken on as the first commission for "Squared images", a project which myself and a fellow photographer are working on.
This was a great, fun shoot which will require a lot of work in post for development.
We had to think of a "point of interest" for the shoot itself. After brainstorming for a few hours we had a big list of concepts which would lend themselves well to the band. Yesterday we started shooting the band with the intention of manipulating the images to produce a "plastic" effect which will them be used to turn the group into action figures. This is proving to be a lot more work than we initially thought but the results are looking good so far. Images up when they're ready...

I took a trip to my local wholesale photography warehouse in the morning to buy a new roll of backdrop paper for a shoot next week. After spending £250 (despite giving myself a strict £170 budget...) I realized that there was no way I'd be able to fit everything I'd bought in a taxi back the flat... In the end I had to carry everything by hand for about 2 miles... walking down busy roads with a 3 meter long heavy roll of paper was no fun but will be worth it come Wednesday.
